About Kathie

Kathie is a graphic designer who also enjoys illustration and motion graphics.

Born and raised in the Greater Seattle Area of Washington state, Kathie somehow never managed to learn Chinese, despite coming from a family that always spoke it. Isolated from both the conversation and her cultural heritage, Kathie chose to overcome linguistic barriers through a passion for art. In middle school, her family moved to Shanghai, China where she attended an international school; she was able to finally learn Chinese and also learned Japanese. This experience, along with a short period abroad in Japan, helped Kathie realize how narrow her perspective was about the world and the people in it, and today she constantly makes an effort to broaden her horizons.

Kathie loves to create work that touches the hearts of the viewer; a smile and a laugh are the best feedback. But she always maintains a strong work ethic and is a top-notch professional when it comes to organizing files and workflow. She prefers to be referred to by name, but also accepts female (she/her) and neutral (they/them) pronouns.
