oodles of doodles
Drawings that I’ve made just for fun! Some are very casual projects, while others are just shower thoughts brought to life.

I drew this based on the thought “the inside of a dumpling seems like it’d be nice and warm and comfy to sleep in”. Fun fact, dumplings in Northern China, where my family is from, are typically boiled instead of steamed or fried.

These are a few drawings I’ve done for a very casual, I-work-on-it-when-I-remember-and-have-time-for-it project I call “100 me 100 styles” where I do a self portrait in different styles from media I enjoy/have enjoyed. A majority are based on anime/manga, but a few are also based on Western media or video games.

I like coming up with character design ideas that I feel could work for video games. These two images were for a robot rabbit character I called Bunny Bot.

During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, I grew my hair out since I was refraining from going to get it cut. I drew this image detailing how my hair changes as it grows longer, though ironically it sticks out both when very short and very long.

When I lived in Boston, I frequented a Japanese grocery store that sold bento lunches. However, I often found it awkward transporting a bento box, since its large square shape would often cause it to tilt in most bags. I thought of this “Bentoukou” (made from the words “bento” and “kou” from the Japanese word for “refridgerator”) backpack based off of (pizza) delivery bags but made it geared more towards grocery shopping.

Over the course of 2021 I tried to make an effort to draw more often, and did a little series of small illustrations featuring a simple subject. I mostly drew food items, but also did some fanart or seasonally relevant doodles. The last two images I drew when I made the decision to move from Boston back to Seattle.
